"What's Going On In There!" Week 12

It's Monday which means that it's time for...............

"What's Going On In There!" Week 12 edition!

I know it's exciting!

So let's see how things are cooking this week for Baby Truex!

Umbilical Cord: Because the baby's intestines have grown so rapidly some of them have sought out shape inside the umbilical cord. Now that there is more room in the baby's abdomen the intestines will start to move back into their proper and permanent place in the baby's abdomen cavity!

Eyelid: Even though the eyelids are still fused shut they are becoming less transparent and have move closer together as they move into their final and permanent place on the front of the face!

Ear: Not only are the eyes moving to their final position this week but the ears are making the same journey to their permanent home on the side of the head. The ears will be in place a little bit before the eyes though.

Uterus: This mommy had a good laugh when she read about the uterus this week since the placement of her's has caused her uterus to already start this journey but this week the uterus is starting to peek out and rise above it's normal home in the pelvic bone. So this week, if you haven't noticed it already, you can start to see some thickening of your waist!

Hopefully you enjoyed the 12 week edition of "What's Going On In There!" This is also the last one for the first trimester because as of Friday when I hit 13 weeks we will officially be in the second trimester and can cross finishing the first trimester milestone off of our milestone list! Yay! 

Also as you are reading this I'm getting ready to head up to pick up Ron and go to our 12 week NT ultrasound! So come back tomorrow to see new and exciting pictures and maybe a video of Baby Truex moving and grooving in it's happy uterine home!
